4th year spring, Professors Bartek Hominski and Filip Suchon
Project Statement
Introduce new mixed-use programming and more connectivity to the surrounding context to contribute to the Bronowice ‘15-minute city’ district. The south side of the site abuts the existing residential program, so the proposal starts with smaller lower-rise structures to respond to the context while also helping form new city blocks. Building height and footprint increase to the north of the site, which frames a new public greenspace and responds to the railroad tracks. Pedestrian paths create an environment that is inviting and encourages people to use alternate means of transportation while moving through the site. The new axis towards the Fort brings opportunity for new public spaces along the avenue. The Cloud, or pavilion structure offers a new landmark, and flexible space for people to inhabit and explore as they choose while being well connected with transit stops and access to al. Fort Seidem, the newly added east-west connection.
The work below is the individual portion of a larger group project.
